Craft Beers Explode at Rio Station

Glasses with different sorts of craft beer on brick wall backgroThe craft beer industry has exploded in recent years and the Rio Station has joined in with selections from all over the country.

By definition, a craft brewer is a producer that has a majority of its total beverage alcohol volume in beers whose flavor derives from traditional or innovative brewing ingredients and their fermentation.

At the Rio, summertime brings seasonal changes like Cape May Brewing Company’s ”Summer Catch” Belgian Wheat. With it’s citrusy and refreshing taste, this Belgian-style wheat ale is CMB’s newest beer to the lineup. Some selections don’t change as much with the seasons, like the ever-popular Cape May IPA. CmB’s flagship beer, is a decidedly hoppy, bitter, moderately strong American pale ale.

Other crafts include beers from New Jersey with River Horse Farmhouse Saison and Flying Fish Extra Pale Ale. Pennsylvania, New York, and Delaware covers the regional area while Bard’s Gluten-Free Sorghum Lager hails from Minnesota. (Yes, it IS gluten-free!)

From the other side of the country comes Lagunitas Undercover Investigation Shutdown Ale, a malty and rich beer with a snappy hop finish that truly defies style.
