Sauvignon blanc is a green-skinned grape variety that originates from the Bordeaux region in the Southwest of France. Sauvignon blanc is widely grown in Washington and California in the US as well as France, Chile, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa, producing a crisp, dry, and refreshing white wine. This dry white wine grape boasts light flavors of citrus fruit or melon. Many varieties also include a flavor experts refer to as “grassiness.” When slightly chilled, Sauvignon blanc pairs well with seafood, cheese or grilled vegetables. It can even work well with many chicken dishes.
